Do I need a data connection to use Run on Earth?

Yes, in order to use the fitness related features you must have a data connection.

Run on Earth uses data from Google Maps and is constantly updating both the elevation levels and also the maps (street, map and satellite viewing modes) as you exercise along your chosen path. To ensure a fluid experience, make sure you have a stable data connection, which can provide at least 500kpbs/sec (higher speeds are recommended, especially in Street view). Additionally, to log in and save any workout results, you must have a data connection.
